A Ship can be registered as body corporate and established either as an IBC or a domestic company. An application for provisional registration of Ship can be made to SIBA.
Additional documentation required by the Ship registrar :
- Application for registration of ship as Seychelles Ship.
- A certification by the Ship builder about the details of the ship.
- A declaration of ownership
- Choice of three alternative names under which the ship can be registered.
- A radio license by Seychelles Licensing Authority.
- A certificate of incorporation, if a ship is owned by the body corporate.
Permanent Registration :
- A vessel can be permanently registered at no extra cost, after the expiry of provisional registration after a period of 90 days.

- Exemption from contributions to social security for non Seychellois personnel.
- 100% foreign ownership of ship.
- On registering a second ship within 12 months of the first registration, owners of the ship are entitled to a rebate of 30% on second ship.
- Parallel registration is possible under the merchant shipping Act.
